Biminis
Can I get a Big Air Custom Bimini shipped with my tower?

No.  Even when we have measurements from a boat to build a tower, there is too much built in adjustability in the tower to make a custom bimini for it before it is installed on a boat.  All Big Air Custom Biminis must be made to measurements taken directly from an installed tower.

How is the Big Air Super Shadow different from the Big Air Custom Bimini?

The Super Shadow is a universal bimini that is only offered in one size (76 inches square). The Big Air Custom Bimini is made specific to your tower. Both options come in a variety of colors.

I have a factory bimini, can you tell me if my bimini will fit a tower?

Unfortunately no, we do not have a database with bimini measurements. There are many different styles of factory biminis and almost impossible to keep track of all of them. See above question for measurements needed to determine fit.

Measuring for Big Air Bimini

Measuring for Installation of a Big Air Bimini Top

Bimini Top installation consists of two steps:

(1) Assembly of the tubing hardware

(2) Attachment of the fabric top.

When you are ordering your bimini top, you will provide specific information concerning your tower.

There are 5 important dimensions that determine the proper size of the bimini top.

Those dimensions are what we call “CR”, "CF","X", "Y", and "Z".    Take a moment to confirm these measurements.

“X” is the distance between the front tower tubes one foot below the top of the tower.

“Y” is the distance between the rear tower tubes one foot below the top of the tower.
To get your X and Y measurements go from the top of your tower, measure one foot down on all four tower legs.
On your front legs, measure from port to starboard (left to right). This is your "X" measurement.
Repeat this process on your rear legs. This is your "Y" measurement.
"Z" is the distance between the front and rear tower tubes one foot below the top of the tower.
To get your Z measurement, turn to one side, port or starboard, measure one foot from the top and measure the distance between your front and rear legs. This is your "Z" measurement.

“CF” and “CR” are the circumference of the tower tubes, front and rear.

Will my new tower fit around my factory bimini?

It depends on the boat and on the bimini. Towers will fit each boat differently based on the size of the boat. Also, bimini tops are different from one boat to the next so there is no way to tell for sure.  For us to determine whether or not a tower will bind your bimini, we will need four measurements from you.

  • Width of the boat where the front legs of the tower will attach.
  • Width of the boat where the rear legs of the tower will attach.
  • Height of the bimini from the tower mount locations.
  • Width of bimini at the top.

Email us your name and phone number along with those four measurements and the type of tower you are interested in.  We will call you and let you know if the tower will bind your bimini or not.
